Emerald Isle Weddings
Emerald Isle is located on the last 12 miles of the western end of Bogue Banks. Thanks to the wise development, exquisite natural areas insterspersed with tastefully developed neighborhoods characterize Emerald Isle. Extensive maritime forests and the emerald-colored sea give the town its names.
The beaches of Emerald Isle are perfect for weddings. Wide and sandy, their southward facing orinetation make them fairly protected in the spring and fall, when northerly winds might make for an otherwise blustery Emerald Isle wedding. The Emerald Isle climate borders on sub-tropical due to the influence of the nearby Gulf Stream, making Emerald Isle a year-round wedding destination.
You won't find large hotels in Emerald Isle for your wedding guests. Emerald Isle is primarily a vacation cottage rental destination, with hundreds of new and traditional vacation homes to choose from, many of which can accommodate up to 15 people and make wonderful wedding reception sites. Most of Emerald Isle's vacation homes are within one or two blocks of the oceanfront. Most oceanfront homes have wooden walkways and stairs that pass over the protective dune line to the beach.
Public beach accesses are located the at the end of just about every other north-south oriented street. Some have parking and boardwalk access to the beach. Parking is on a first-come, first served basis.
Many wedding-related businesses make Emerald Isle home, including florists, wedding planners, caterers, and photographers.
