CRYSTAL COAST WEATHER

Due to its proximity to the moderating influences of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf Stream, the Crystal Coast is blessed with astounding weather nearly year-round.

The average annual temperature is 64 degress. The January average temperature is 44 degrees, while July's average is 79 degrees. While unbearably hot summer days do occur, they are often temepered near the water, where ocean and river breezes keep things cool.

Annual rainfall totals about 55 inches, with July and August being the rainiest months due to cooling summer afternoon thunderstroms and rain showers. Measurable snowfall is a real rarity, occuring only about once every two years.

The most popular wedding months are October, September, April, and May. At these times, rainfall is minimal (with the exception of the rare Autumn tropical storm that blows through the region every few years), and temperatures and humidity levels are moderate.

In the summer months, the wind blows primarily from the south, off the oecan, and can result in a stiff onshore breeze during your beach ceremony. In the fall and spring, the winds are primarily out of the north, providing a calmer beach environment.
